Downgrading/Uninstalling Internet Explorer (IE) from version 11/10/9 to version 8

On system where you have any latest version of Internet Explorer (IE) 11/10/9, you can downgrade it to version 8 by uninstalling the latest version of IE which restores IE to it’s immediate previous versions.

 

Suppose if you have IE11 and if you uninstall it, your IE will be of IE10 version.

Suppose if you have IE10 and if you uninstall it, your IE will be of IE9 version.

Suppose if you have IE9 and if you uninstall it, your IE will be of IE8 version.

 

Before uninstalling IE9:

Say restart later to the prompt

After uninstalling IE9: there will be no updates shown for previous version IE8 which comes as default with Windows 7

Now restart your system > launch IE and verify the version.

 

The important difference to notice is in IE8 and IE9, you’ll see both normal Internet Explorer (which is a 32-bit) and Internet Explorer (64-bit).  in Start > Programs.
