1. Download VMware 5.0.1 software sources (to get the download links refer: How to Register and Download a VMware product for Evaluation):
- ESXi 5.1 Update 1 ISO image (Includes VMware Tools)
- VMware vCenter Server 5.1.0 Update 1a Appliance (this is a Linux box) -OR-
- VMware vCenter Server 5.1.0 Update 1a and modules (these are sources that you can install on Windows boxes)
- VMware vSphere Client 5.1 Update 1
- 2. Then burn a bootable disk with ESXi 5.1. ISO and setup your host server with its installation
- 3. Have the vSphere client software installed on your client system or from client system browser to the URL of your new ESXi host by IP-Address, download the vSphere client and then install
- 4. From vSphere interface, Import your vCenter Appliance image to your VMHost
- 5. Configure the vCenter Appliance as detailed in Configuring the VMware vCenter Server Appliance
