Hide all icons on Desktop

This is a Windows group policy which greatly comes handy in maintaining highly restricted environment in cases like high secured environments or SaaS platforms.

For instance, you are publishing a Citrix server desktop from XenApp where you don’t want users to see any items/icons on the desktop. Then you can set this group policy so that users desktop background always remains with default plain screen.

User ConfigurationAdministrativeTemplatesDesktop

Description

Removes icons, shortcuts, and other default and user-defined items from the desktop, including Briefcase, Recycle Bin, My Computer, and My Network Places.

Removing icons and shortcuts does not prevent the user from using another method to start the programs or opening the items they represent.
