Troubleshooting: Windows Server Connectivity Issues

It’s most common scenario observed with Windows 2003 Servers where you wouldn’t be able to connect to the server as well as server can’t connect to the network apart being able to ping itself

  1. Check the NIC cable status: Connected properly, showing Green indicators, patched to the proper Vlan switch port
  2. PING Command: Check the ping command responses/results
  3. TRACERT Command: Check to know route to the server
  4. IPCONFIG Command: verify that default gateway and subnet masks are fine
  5. IPCONFIG /RENEW Command: If using DNS, trying renewing the IP address
