My TestLab Environment:

1. Two physical machines of same hardware model ‘OptiPlex 755’
2. One has SEP RU5 and other don’t have any AV software
3. Both the machines are in the same OU and NO GPs
4. Both the machines have up-to-date patches and same software environment
5. Firewall disabled
6. Same user login via RDP
7. Sample details:

Performance Statistics:

1. Reboot times (in seconds) – using stopwatch

          a. Base Win7 — Avg: 15.43 sec

          b. Win7 with SEP — Avg: 14.94 sec

          c. Difference — Avg: + 0.49 secs

          d. Improve in perf — Avg: + 3 % (formula: 0.49/15.43)

2. Login times (in seconds) – using stopwatch

          a. Base Win7 — Avg: 12.96 sec

          b. Win7 with SEP — Avg: 14.40 sec

          c. Difference — Avg: 1.45 secs

          d. Delay in perf — Avg: – 11 % (formula: 1.45/12.96)

3. Logoff times (in seconds) – used stopwatch by sitting in front of machine

          a. Base Win7 — Avg: 4.77 sec

          b. Win7 with SEP — Avg: 5.86 sec
