When you just launch the explorer shell it launches with Libraries as active path as shown below: You can have the explorer open with a specified path/folder as shown below: %SystemRoot%explorer.exe explorer.exe /root,C:TempTest     You can also have explorer open with a default path along with a selection made on one of the sub-item file/folder as shown below %SystemRoot%explorer.exe explorer.exe C:TempTestTemp1,/select <p><a href=”http://gunnalag.files.wordpress.com/2011/10/image2.png”><img style=”background-image:none;border-bottom:0;border-left:0;padding-left:0;padding-right:0;display:inline;border-top:0;border-right:0;padding-top:0;” title=”image” border=”0″ alt=”image” src=”http://gunnalag.files.wordpress.com/2011/10/image_thumb2.png” width=”600″ height=”446″ /></a>

There is an issue usually occurs when you perform some operations that are related to the taskbar or to the Address bar such as pinning or unpinning icons or dragging links to the taskbar.   Microsoft has released a update to fix the Explorer crash on both Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2 platforms.   < p>Refer MSFT article  Windows Explorer may crash in Windows 7 or in Windows Server 2008 R2 for the hotfix.
