It is possible that you can treat some of illnesses like fever, cold, cough, headache, body pains, etc  at your home if you have appropriate medical tools and basic medicinal knowledge.  This is the article detailing identifying some of these illnesses their symptoms and using appropriate medical tools and medicines for self care or as first aid.  Essentially, this helps greatly for senior citizens (old age people above 50 years). These details are only for informational purposes and you should always consult your doctor for any treatments.

Fever or High Fever:

Its very common illness that old age people mostly face during travel or place of change which results in water change, climate change, sleeplessness, mosquito bites, having heavy/oily/outside/packed food, etc.,

Medical tools to use: Flexible Digital Thermometer, this measures your body oral temperature and reports in Fahrenheit degree’s.  Below are the values that your temperature should be:

Treatment: Most of the times a simple fever or temporary fever can be controlled by consuming below medicine in old page people:

Fever associated with cough and breathing trouble:

Sometimes you’ll find people suffering with intermittent high fever associate mostly with either cough or cold.  Their temperature exceeds the normal range of 99.9  Fahrenheit degree’s.  They don’t like to take food and feels most of the food items as tasteless.  Their body restores to low temporary upon consuming Dolo 650 tablets. They have dry cough symptoms causing breathing difficulties.

Treatment: Following medicine may be used to control Cough and Fever

  • Cifran 500 (antibiotic)
  • TusQ tablet (cough tablet)
  • TusQ – DX (cough syrup for quick relief from cough and breathing difficulties)
  • Cheston Cold (if you having cold instead of cough)

 

High or Low Blood Pressure (B.P.):

it is very important factor to consider while diagnosing senior citizens/old age people for any illnesses. They usually be associated with either high/low blood pressure in conjunction to any infections/illnesses.

Medical tools to use: Blood Pressure Monitor (B. P. Monitor or Apparatus), these are widely used in hospitals and clinics.  There are now user friendly electronic Blood Pressure Monitors are available which can be used at home itself. They also feature Pulse rate monitoring along with history retainment. It is measured in millimeters of mercury (mm Hg).  It includes below forms of blood pressure

  • Systolic Pressure: blood pressure when the heart beats while pumping blood
  • Diastolic Pressure: blood pressure when the heart is at rest between beats

High or Low Blood Sugar Levels (Diabetic):

it is also a very important factor to consider while diagnosing senior citizens/old age people for any illnesses. They usually be associated with either high/low blood sugar levels even in the long runs.

Medical tools to use: GlucoMeter, these requires test strips that input your blood sample to the device.  They report the blood sugar levels blood glucose levels either in

  • terms of a molar concentration, measured in mmol/L (millimoles per litre; or millimolar, abbreviated mM) or
  • in mg/dL (milligrams per decilitre).

Treatment: Consult your diabetic specialist and use the prescribed medicine. Usually most Diabetic patients would be prescribed to use relevant medicine for a long time on the daily basis.
