HOW DO I GET A NEW ELECTRICITY CONNECTION

 

GENERAL ADVICE & CAUTION TO CONSUMERS FOR RELEASE OF NEW SERVICE CONNECTIONS

Please ensure before applying for new service connection that the following conditions are satisfied:

There should not be any outstanding electricity dues (arrears) at the premises where new service connection is required and on applicants’ name anywhere in APCPDCL jurisdiction.

Electrical house wiring has to be completed in all aspects. Many people visit Asbury Electric here or a similar site and hire an electrician to make sure this is done professionally. The consumers are advised to use good quality wiring material and MCBs (Miniature Circuit Breakers) as main circuit cut-out, instead of ordinary Kit-Kat fuse set for more safety.

Earthing has to be ensured perfectly by providing earth pits by the consumer. This is mandatory condition to be fulfilled in order to prevent electrical accidents.

A Panel Board is required, if the number of services is exceeding four in a premise.

If additional infra-structure like electric pole, lines etc., are required to release the new service connection, you have to pay the required charges to the department as per estimate.

Meter will be fixed outside the house or in waranda and service wire drawn should be visible. If it is multistoried building meters will be fixed in ground floor through panel board only.

In case of multistoried buildings with 15 meters height and above have to obtain approval from CEIG of A.P. for releasing power supply.

Accessories required like meter box (if required), Service Wire, G.I. Wire, 2 Nos. Mini Guy-Insulators etc., should be made available by the consumer to the departmental staff for giving new service connection within time.

The consumer has to comply all the above guidelines to get the better customer service in time from APCPDCL

You should go to your nearest APDPCPL integrated consumer service centre and collect the application form for a new electrical connection.

DOCUMENTS TO BE SUBMITTED FOR NEW SERVICE CONNECTIONS

1.

Evidence of ownership premises through Registered Documents like Sale Deed, Lease Deed, Gift Deed or Partition Deed, if the property belongs to two or many, the applicant has to submit no objection certificate from the remaining people, and these documents need to be attested by Notary Public or Gazetted Officer.

In case the registered documents as mentioned above are not available, proof of identity and stay in the particular location, need to be established by the following documents and these documents need to be attested by Gazetted Officer or Notary Public:

Patta Land Document (with photograph)

Passport issued by R.P.O., Hyderabad

Voter Identity Card

Driving Licence

In such cases an Indemnity Bond indemnifying the company needs to be taken on Non Judicial Stamp Paper worth Rs 100/-.

A Demand Draft (Including application fees) to be drawn in favour of in any Nationalized Bank
in favour of “AO (EXP.) / OP. / CC / APCPDCL / HYD” at the following rates.

Passport Size Photos-2 Nos.

The consumer on whose name new service connection is to be issued, has to come in person to the Integrated Customer Service Center to pose for a photograph through computer web camera.
